No More Painters Block! :)

I finally got out of my painters block, relaxed my painting style, and here I am...looking at a finished painting, and three almost finished pieces. Hooray! It only took me friggin' forever. Gees. Thanks to Josh to just telling me to "relax" and quick worrying about how they are looking. It was just what I needed.

I'm in the midst of sketching on Kim's canvases....oh boy. These are big puppies. They are going to take me a looonnnggg while! Looking at ordering more oil paints to complete these but we will see if I need more as I go along.

Anyways, here are photos of the pieces in progress and my FINISHED piece....look familiar? It used to be the emerald green wave. It was boring me so now it's pink and purple :)

This one was also emerald green and white but I decided to make it go with the above painting (Below)

This is a painting I've been working on for mister Josh for a while. It has about 6 coats of paint on it...takes forever to dry. The yellow kayak and kayaker are still wet so I can't move on until they are dry.

Inspiration Station

I've been painting right along and struggling with painters block. Every day I get a bit of inspiration and I try to put it all in to my work...but sometimes it's difficult to make these thoughts materialize on a canvas. I've had a few successes but I cant bring myself to say "alright, they're finished". For the time being they hang on the wall and I think about what to do.

Question to anyone that reads my blog...DOES anyone read my blog? ha ha ha this blog is really for me but sometimes it's nice to know that the blog isn't a TOTAL waste of time. Is there anyone out there that reads this stuff lol :P ??????

I think i'll do a bit of painting tonight while Im thinking of ideas. Stay tuned for the hopefully "finished" pieces!

Some Art in Progress....don't be too harsh on it...

So...this stuff is all coming along quite nicely and wow these pictures are not flattering. Hang in there with me on these and check back for the final photos of these. :)

Updates----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here are a couple of the paintings nearing completion. I've got nine paintings going right now. Some are ready for their next coat of paint while others have been drying for three weeks and still aren't ready. Gotta love oil. I've been having a great time painting in the evenings...sure does help me relax after a long day at work. The completed versions will eventually be posted...but until then, we have to wait for things to dry out :D

Here's a piece I've been working on for the past year. I'm still not done with it but I'm getting there. My goal is to have it finished in the next two weeks so check back in a bit :)
